Hi, my name is Keven Carlton and I am one of the registered dental hygienists who will be working with you routinely, helping you maintain your teeth for a lifetime.  I feel so privileged to be able to work with so many wonderful patients everyday and help them with my dental skills and my sense of humor!  I have been practicing with Dr. Westermann for over 20 years and cherish the relationships I have made with my patients.  I love seeing them every few months and sharing what has gone on in their life since our last appointment.  It gives me great pleasure to be able to educate them about their oral health, and uplift their spirits.  A personal caring attitude is a must in our profession, in my opinion!

I graduated from the Univ. of Louisville in 1985, am married to Bobby Carlton and enjoy spending time with all my nieces and nephews. I am also a polymer clay artist making jewelry and all kinds of things, for my business KevsoKraft!  I have articles on display in various galleries throughout the city!

Lauren Gahafer, RDH  - Registered Dental Hygienist

 

                        

Hi, I’m Lauren Gahafer and I am a registered dental hygienist.  I work closely with Dr. Westermann educating you on how to have a healthy beautiful smile for a lifetime!  It is rewarding for me to be able to teach and motivate you to better your oral health, thereby preserving your great smile—one of your most important features!  I am also trained to provide local anesthesia to patients when necessary, and pride myself on my painless technique!  My patients appreciate the modern technology I use, along with my gentle touch.  Your comfort is always my primary concern.

I graduated from the Univ. Of Louisville School of Dentistry in 2008, and have been with Dr. Westermann most of the time since then.  I feel blessed to have a great mentor in Dr. Westermann, as well as our other hygienist, Keven.  I grew up in the Southend of Louisville, and will be getting married to Dustin in October 2011.

 

 Angie Schiavone- Receptionist/Patient Coordinator/ Dental Assistant

 

 

                       

Hi, I’m Angie Schiavone.  I’m usually the first person you’ll talk with, and the first person you will meet when you come to our practice!  I love my job because I am a people person!  I have been the patient coordinator in our practice for 10 years, and have been in dentistry for 24.  It is very rewarding for me to be able to make the appointments and financial arrangements for you, that allow you to receive the great care you deserve! I’ve helped so many people maximize their insurance benefits because of my vast experience.  I am also cross trained as a dental assistant and will frequently get a chance to help with your treatment chairside!  I have the best of both worlds! 

I am married to Scott and we have three cats.  I love to play tennis and spend time with my grandaughter, Laura, when I get the chance!  I’m looking forward to meeting you soon!

 

Kathy Lega, EDDA  Assistant

                            

Hi, I am Kathy Lega. I am the expanded duty dental assistant, who will be working very closely with Dr. Westermann on your clinical care. It is very rewarding to change a decayed or broken tooth and make it new again! It is so gratifying to create a beautiful smile, and boost someone’s self esteem!  I love working directly with our patients and making everyone feel comfortable.  Your comfort is my top priority!  Our gentle touch and caring ways will make your visit painfree. 

I have been a dental assistant for 36 years, receiving my dental education from Jefferson State Vocational School and the University of Louisville.  I love learning, so keeping up with the latest in dentistry is a true pleasure!  I am fortunate to belong to an organization, Dental BootKamp, who teach dentists and their team how to run a successful and ethical dental practice, with the patients well being the primary concern!

I have been married to Alan for 36 years. We have three children, two grandsons Nathan and Dylan and a grand dog Vito. When I’m not spending time with my family I love running with my “ Sole Sisters”.  I have run marathons in 11 different states!
